Bone contouring is planned on scans, not photographs. What the consultation covers and how to plan a longer recovery stay.
Cheekbone reduction narrows or repositions the zygomatic bones to slim the mid-face. It is bone surgery, planned on imaging and performed through small incisions, and Korean surgeons have long experience with it. Swelling is significant and recovery is longer than for soft-tissue procedures, so the trip needs realistic time.
Facial imaging, bone shape, soft tissue thickness and how the cheeks relate to the jaw and chin. The surgeon explains how much reduction is proportionate, how the bone would be repositioned and fixed, and how they address the risk of soft tissue sagging afterwards.
Ask how the bone is cut and fixed, what the surgeon does to reduce sagging risk, how numbness is expected to behave, and how symmetry is planned and checked. Ask whether jaw or chin surgery would be considered together and why or why not.
Clinics commonly describe major swelling in the first two weeks, a soft diet for a period and several check-ups, with swelling continuing to settle over months. Ask when flying is appropriate; plan accommodation for a longer stay with a companion where possible.
