Double jaw surgery repositions both the upper and lower jaws to correct bite and facial proportion. It is major surgery that usually involves orthodontic treatment before and after, a hospital stay and a long recovery. For an international patient the planning spans months and more than one trip, and coordination between surgeon, orthodontist and your own dentist matters.
Imaging, dental models and bite analysis by a surgeon and an orthodontist. Ask how the plan is made, how long pre-surgical orthodontics would take and whether it can be done at home, and what the surgery is expected to change functionally and in appearance.
Ask which steps require presence in Seoul, how orthodontic care at home would be coordinated with the Korean team, and what records must pass between them. Have the communication route agreed before you start.
Expect at least a planning visit and a surgical visit, with a hospital stay, several weeks of significant swelling, a liquid then soft diet and multiple check-ups. Ask when flying home is appropriate and how follow-up continues remotely.
