Korean eye clinics offer several laser methods, including flap-based LASIK and surface treatments such as LASEK or PRK, often with wavefront or topography-guided planning. They differ in recovery speed and in which corneas they suit. The pre-operative examination, not preference, decides the method.
Recovery differences
Flap-based methods are commonly described as faster visual recovery; surface methods involve a longer period of discomfort and blurred vision while the surface heals. Plan the trip length around the method recommended.
The trip
Examination with contact lens rest beforehand, surgery, a next-day check and further checks that may be done at home. Ask when flying is appropriate and what precautions apply in the first weeks.
