How to prepare the consultation, structure the trip and read the estimate for double eyelid surgery in Seoul. The surgeon decides the method; you decide with clear information.
Double eyelid surgery creates or defines an upper eyelid crease and is one of the most frequently requested procedures at Korean clinics. Surgeons choose between non-incisional (suture) methods and incisional methods depending on eyelid anatomy, skin and the result you describe. This guide covers the planning side: the consultation, the questions, the trip and the estimate.
The surgeon examines the eyelids, skin thickness, fat and the position of the eyebrow, asks what crease shape and height you have in mind and explains which methods they consider appropriate. Expect discussion of natural asymmetry, whether ptosis correction or epicanthoplasty would be considered alongside, and how the result is expected to settle over time.
Ask why the surgeon recommends a non-incisional or incisional approach for you, how long each is expected to hold, what the scar and swelling pattern is for each, and what happens if the crease loosens or the two sides settle differently. Ask to see the surgeon's own examples of a similar eyelid type, with the clinic's consent policy for images.
Consultation and surgery are often close together for this procedure, followed by a stitch-removal or check-up visit within the first week. Clinics commonly describe visible swelling settling over one to two weeks and the crease refining over months. Your surgeon gives the timeline for your case and tells you when flying is appropriate.
Method, whether fat repositioning or removal is included, combination with ptosis correction or canthoplasty, anaesthesia type, and included follow-up. Revision terms matter for eyelid surgery; ask what the clinic's policy is and for how long.
How will asymmetry be handled? What crease height suits my anatomy and why? What is the plan if the result is not symmetrical after settling? Which activities, makeup and lenses are limited and for how long? How do I reach the clinic after I return home?
